Iowa High School Hockey Alliance (IHSHA)

The Iowa High School Hockey Alliance was formed in 2021 to support the growth of high school hockey in the State of Iowa for U18 athletes not part of the Midwest High School Hockey League.

The formation of this alliance allowed for new teams to be formed to grow competitive recreational high school opportunities for athletes from Waterloo, Quad Cities, and Iowa City to compete with the existing Des Moines High School Hockey league and Okoboji Mammoths teams.

In 2023 the IHSHA has been granted probationary sanctioning by Midwest Amateur Hockey Association. MWAHA is the USA Hockey Affiliate governing amateur Ice Hockey in Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska.

Each team plays an 18 page regular season culminating in a state tournament February 2024 in Des Moines.
